Trust Drum Circles Secures Three Second-Quarter Grant Awards to Expand Accessible Arts Programming Across Ohio
Ohio — July 2026

Trust Drum Circles is proud to announce three grants awarded during the second quarter of 2026, strengthening its ability to increase access to adaptive drum circles and inclusive music-based wellness programs for individuals with disabilities.
The awards represent support from three Ohio philanthropic organizations. The Leonard Krieger Fund of the Cleveland Foundation awarded a two-year investment, with funding distributed across 2026 and 2027. The Akron Community Foundation (ACF) provided a Community Fund – Arts & Culture grant supporting free drumming lessons and immersive drum circle experiences; the grant was made possible through ACF’s Muriel A. Zodrow Fund, William C. Krisher Fund, and Schrank Family Fund. A third grant from the Good Shepherd Foundation of Ohio will bolster Trust Drum Circles’ flagship adaptive drumming program, The Rhythm Collective.
Funding will support adaptive percussion equipment, instructor compensation, transportation, and expanded programming delivered in partnership with disability service organizations and community agencies across Ohio. The Good Shepherd Foundation award will also expand The Rhythm Collective, increasing access for approximately 500 adults with developmental, intellectual, physical, and sensory disabilities across Summit, Cuyahoga, Medina, and Franklin counties, and other Ohio communities.
“We’re really grateful for the opportunity to receive this funding. We’ve been receiving great feedback from our community partners, and to see foundations recognize that, and want to support it, means a lot. It gives us the opportunity to do more.”
~ Maseh Nchang, Executive Director, Trust Drum Circles
Collectively, these awards reflect growing confidence in Trust Drum Circles’ mission to make rhythm-based arts and wellness programming accessible to all. By strengthening existing partnerships and creating opportunities to reach new communities, this funding will help the organization continue using music to foster connection, creativity, and belonging for individuals of all abilities.
