Accessibility & Inclusion Policy

Trust Drum Circles is committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming, and accessible space for all participants, volunteers, and facilitators. We believe rhythm and community belong to everyone, regardless of ability, background, or circumstance.


Scope
This policy applies to all programs, workshops, and events.


Our Commitment
We ensure physical, sensory, and communication accessibility, provide reasonable accommodations, and promote dignity, independence, and equal opportunity. We foster a culture where everyone feels valued and respected.


Accessibility Measures

  • Physical: We strive to bring our mobile program to wheelchair-accessible venues with ramps, wide doors, accessible restrooms, reserved spaces, and welcome assistance animals. Our program is adaptable to meet different spaces and needs.
  • Sensory: Quiet spaces, earplugs/headphones on request, and clear visual/communication cues.

Accommodations
Request accommodations at least two weeks before an event via email, phone/text, or in person. All requests are confidential and handled respectfully.


Training & Feedback
Staff and facilitators receive regular accessibility training; volunteers are guided on respectful support. Feedback is welcomed to improve accessibility, reviewed annually, and used to update practices.

Glory Mafor

Board Member

Glory Mafor, Glory Mafor is a writer, editor, media, and communications professional with interests in literary arts, global communication, and how they intersect with culture and social development. She is the former chief editor of Self-ish, a literary publication that platforms over 25 young black writers across Africa, the Caribbean, and beyond.  Glory is also a spoken word poet, a worship leader, and a voiceover artist. Through her work and art, she is intentional about curating and amplifying stories that inspire individuals to own their story, be unique, and live authentically.
